Free eating, metal impacts and car sound effects…

I hate hearing the sound of someone eating. Noisy eaters? hmmm. Well for the listening pleasure of our listeners and hopefully a useful addition to our library, we recorded ourselves eating dinner today! Stir fry, to be exact.

To end our quick recording stint in the kitchen, we hammered our fists a few times on the boiler cover. The loose cover emits a really nice resonating thud. We added two dry versions, just for good measure and then simply added a large wet reverb to the recordings and pitched them down to create a heavy, larger and darker metal impact sound effect. in fact, you can download all our free metal impact sound effects here.

Recording in the car last week we used the trusty Zoom H2 to capture a really nice close up recording of wind rushing past a very slightly open window while doing 70mph on the motorway. They’ve been added too and can be downloaded here.

We’re pretty busy tomorrow but we have a few ideas knocking around for some news free sound effect additions. Watch this space for more!
